Carolyn “Carol” Padgett, 72, of Evansville, IN passed peacefully September 13th, 2022 at Empath Hospice in St. Petersburg, FL. She was born, November 2, 1949 in Evansville to the late Joseph and Catherine (Sitzman) Schneider.
Carol, graduated Reitz Memorial High School in 1967, obtained a Bachelor of Arts, and later a Master’s degree in Education from the University of Evansville. She has been a devoted Holy Rosary Parishioner since 1973. “Mrs. Padgett” impacted so many lives as a teacher at Holy Rosary and Christ the King for 20 + years, many public schools, and post retirement as a substitute. She loved the students and spent countless hours providing unique experiences.
Carol is survived by her children, Angie Tate, Stacey Becker (Chad) and Andrew (Ashley) Padgett; grandchildren, Levi Tate, Piper Tate, Archer Padgett, Adelyn Padgett and James Brian Becker; sisters, Linda (Dennis) Hagan, Joann (Jan) Pruiett and Nancy Schneider-Stone; nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her husband, “Wilbur” William Padgett of 52 years; son, Brian Padgett; and brother, Gary Schneider.
Visitation will be held from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Central Time, Friday, September 23, 2022, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 1301 S. Green River Rd., Evansville IN, 47715. Mass of Christian Burial will follow visitation at 2:30 p.m. Inurnment will be at 10:00 a.m. Central Time Saturday, September 24, 2022 at St. Joe Cemetery.
